Sceptre Jiu Jitsu is a modern BJJ academy in San Mateo. We have classes for kids age 5+ and adults of all experience levels to learn and grow in a supportive community.

You’ll learn using the constraints-led approach (CLA) methodology, which allows you to adapt the fundamentals to your unique attributes.
Inclusive culture
Everyone is welcome and we’ll even be offering a scholarship program to support low-income individuals and families.

Our core adult program is designed to provide a comprehensive BJJ education. Each class integrates wrestling, and submission grappling concepts that are effective in both Gi and No-Gi contexts. Learn a new skill, get in the best shape of your life, and join a great community.
Kids Martial Arts & BJJ Classes (Ages 5+)
Our kids' program is designed to build confidence, discipline, and respect in a fun and safe environment. We teach foundational grappling and martial arts skills that will benefit them for a lifetime. Parents are welcome to take the class with their child at no extra charge.

We are dedicated to building a strong and supportive community for women in BJJ. We offer a weekly women-only class and a free monthly open mat where any woman can come to train and connect.
